Chelsea Made Contact To Sign Star Striker

Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata appeared destined to play in the premier league next season after emerging as a target for both Chelsea and Manchester United this summer.

But Man Utd is bringing in Romelu Lukaku already, and Chelsea have been forced to assess their options after losing the Belgian to their rival and have revived their interest in Morata again.

Jose Mourinho is set to reunite with Lukaku at Old Trafford and is in pole position for the player's signature. And his former club are now eyeing both Andrea Belotti and Morata ahead of a busy campaign next season.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Stamford Bridge club have made contact in the last few hours  for the Spaniard.

The Spain international seem to be on the verge of sealing a move to Manchester United last week before Jose Mourinho's side turned their attention to Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.

Jose Mourinho sold the Belgium international to Everton back in 2014 when he was still at Chelsea, and he has gone on to become one of the best strikers in the premier league. Last season in the English top flight, he played 37 games for Ronald Koeman's side and scored 25 goals with 6 assists.

Champions League winners Real Madrid are asking something close to £80m for Alvaro, so the blues will have to splash the cash to secure his services.
