Former Chelsea Coach Jose Mourinho Now Clear To Get Signing Done For Current Club

Manchester United are flying high at the moment, having successfully won their last five games in all competitions. The Old Trafford club won their first trophy under the management of new Portuguese boss Jose Mourinho by beating Southampton in the EFL Cup final last weekend.

Since Liverpool lost their league game against defending champions Leicester City last night, Jose Mourinho and his men now have the chance to overtake their arch rivals. And not to forget, the Anfield club were 10 points above the Old Trafford club earlier in the season.

Now as far as the transfers are concerned, the Manchester United coach needs to reinforce his squad come summer to improve his team and once again Stefan de Vrij is back in the limelight.

De Vrij was linked with a move to Old Trafford when Dutch boss Louis van Gaal was still in charge of the club. Back in December last year, reports suggested that the dutch international  is ready say yes to joining United.

And If the latest reports are anything to go by, then we can say Manchester United are clear to finally secure De Vrij's signing next summer. The Express recently reported that Lazio are ready to sell the former Feyenoord defender to Manchester United for a fee of 30 million pounds (I.e $37million).

Back in the FIFA World Cup in 2014, Stefan was fantastic for the Netherlands side and he has been impressive in the Serie A as well. He suffered a metatarsal fracture this season and has only featured in 18 league games. The central defender has scored once and has provided one assist in this current term.

The Sun suggested too that since the red devils are also looking to sign Swedish star Victor Lindelof from Benfica, they may get rid of De Vrij’s compatriot Daley Blind.
