Chelsea have a very obvious strong squad but Conte is still looking for further reinforcements in the ongoing winter transfer window.

The Sun reported that Chelsea have made the first move and have contacted Ricardo Rodriguez’s agent as they now look to strengthen their left wing-back position.

24-year-old Rodriguez plays for Wolfsburg, and is not just solid at the back, but is also productive in the attacking third. Even so, he can even play in the central defense and this season so far in 14 league starts for the German Bundesliga side, he has scored 2 twice and has also provided 2 assists.

The Sun additionally added that Arsenal too have been tracking the Swiss international for quite some time now. However, Chelsea will see if they can securing his signature in a deal worth £21million (I.en$26million).

Conte brought Marcos Alonso from Fiorentina last summer and has utilized the player effectively in the left wing-back position in his classic 3-4-3 formation.

The Spanish defender however recently got injured and might even miss the game against vs Spurs. The former Juventus manager does not have an adequate replacement for Alonso now that Azpilicueta mainly starts in the central defense. So, they need to sign Rodriguez who can surely solve that concern.
